The Journey Begins: Overcoming Initial Blocks

In our latest interview from Project Seed Money’s continuing series, we sit down with Jaimee Mayne—an engineer, author, teacher, and energy worker—who shares her inspiring journey of becoming a published writer. Jaimee’s story is a testament to perseverance, commitment, and the power of taking intentional action toward achieving your writing goals.

Jaimee’s path to completing her first book wasn’t quick or easy. It took two years of navigating mental blocks, balancing work, and, ultimately, taking time off to fully dedicate herself to the writing process. One of the most pivotal moments in her journey came when she booked a temporary rental and spent 10 uninterrupted days focusing solely on her manuscript. This period of intense focus helped her push through the final stages of writing and bring her project to life.

In the interview, Jaimee discusses the importance of creating space in your life for your creative work and trusting the process, even when it feels overwhelming. She shares how her book now plays an integral role in her teaching and energy work, providing added value to the people she helps. Her message is clear: no matter how long it takes or how many obstacles you face, it’s possible to move forward, one step at a time.

For any aspiring authors out there who feel stuck or overwhelmed, Jaimee’s experience is both relatable and encouraging. She reminds us that the writing process doesn’t need to follow a strict timeline, and sometimes, stepping away from your routine to focus entirely on your project can make all the difference.
